Tollgate Canyon was lightly raced by his breeders before the conclusion was made that he was just not that into it. All history is known on this humongous puppy dog and he retired without any known limitations. “Cam” has been turned out 24/7 since he arrived at the farm at the end of May. He walked out of his raceplates and has been sound on bare feet since then, even being ridden over gravel. This big dude has had plenty of time to let down, he was immediately good at “being a horse” and even gained all of his weight throughout the summer heat, living and eating outside in a herd. He’s truly been an easy keeper, he carries great weight and is just waiting for someone to build up his top line! Along with excellent feet, Cam also boasts very impressive bone! He has been ridden four times since leaving the track, not including his bareback ride to the arena before free jumping, and has proved to be unflappable! He has willingly taken on all new things with a curious nature, including but not limited to water, bridges, fed ex trucks, and an actual scarecrow. I would confidently introduce this 3 yr old to Fox Hunting this season! Cam has the potential to be very competitive for a professional in a variety of disciplines. He has BIG movement in all of his gates and has shown that he is smart and careful over the few small things he has been asked to pop over, free jumping and under saddle. He could easily excel in Eventing, Fox Hunting, Show Hunters, Jumpers, Dressage, Competitive Trail, or just about anything else! His disposition is second to none and could also be the AA’s dream horse, a horse that will be low maintenance through the process of restarting and safe to be in the barn with young kids. Cam has no stable vises, he needed absolutely no adjustment to being cross tied in an open aisle and he loves to be loved on. He also stands contently behind nothing but a single stall guard since he’s been brought into the barn for just the past couple of weeks. Cam is eligible for the 2024 Tb Makeover. His ride count allows perfect timing to build up that top line, enjoying long hacks for another 10 rides in this beautiful weather while doing your ground work and then be off to start your under saddle training on Dec 1!
