Lil Mateo is an adorable gelding who would love to live right in your pocket! Although he is green, he has already been ridden and thoroughly enjoyed by both a beginner and a junior rider. “Teo” showed his bravery and willingness when tackling trail obstacles on his very first post track ride! He hacks out quietly, alone or in company, through open fields, trails, natural banks, and ditches, and also water.

In the ring, he is quiet, smart, and well balanced. He shows scope and agility over fences while he natural jumps with very tidy knees! He has behaved like an absolute gem when shipping off the property and even stands quietly on a trailer alone while his company (a filly) leaves him to school. He also stands quietly and patiently on cross ties. He has been turned out alone and in a large group of geldings and even with small ponies. He gets along with everybody outside and also shows good stall manners.

This horse would certainly be suitable for any discipline at all but would surely shine in any jumping discipline and has the brain to continue his training with an amateur or junior rider who works regularly with a trainer.

Teo retired due only to his lack of competitiveness and has visibly clean joints, quality feet, and no known limitations! He was an enjoyable and easy mount on the racetrack and loved by his racing connections. Teo is (as of 7/31/20) 2020 and 2021 RRP TB Makeover eligible, though he will lose eligibility for 2021 with continued training.
